The iAcadia application was started by Ryan Wooden and Alex Sanford. The application was developed to collect and organize information about Acadia University into a native application for iOS devices. The goal of the iAcadia application update was to increase the amount of in- formation the application contained and to modify the interface to increase ease of navigation. The update builds on the original application that was developed for iOS devices of all types. The target version of the iOS operating system for the iAcadia update is iOS 4.0 and later. Several new sources of information were added to the application and presented to the user in familiar ways. The update provides the client with several new modules to provide information to the user. These include a calendar module, an improved Athletics module, a Open Acadia module, Help Desk module, and a Library module. There were also changes made to existing modules to increase the ease of navigation. Most of these changes were made in the Courses module. The server has been updated to collect and provide to the client the information required for the new or improved modules. The server was also improved to increase the efficiency of scraping information and reduce the amount of redundant data being sent to the client. The final module that was added to the application, but not included in the first update, was the Building Identification module. This module was designed to identify campus buildings using the device camera. The update has been quite successful with almost 60 percent of original applications being updated and over 600 new application downloads occurring since the release in September. The usage of the application can be tracked from the server. This usage shows that the application is still in constant use.
