The cost of racial relations due to the regulations imposed and enforced through immigration policy are of great interest to me. How and why Canada allows certain people to cross the boarders while sometimes forcefully keeping others out has always puzzled me. I thought by doing an honours thesis on this topic I would be able to come to some conclusions and even reasoning‟s as to why our immigration system is run the way it is, and why we have the laws and regulations that we do. This research has certainly enlightened me to aspects and regulations that I was not really aware of before beginning this process. The final goal is to shed light on some of the issues that are facing new immigrants once they actually get to come to Canada and experience the inequalities that plague them due to injustices perpetuated by the immigration system.
