The litho- and biofacies of the Wallace Point Limestone Member and possible correlatives were studied in order to determine their paleoenvironments of deposition, facies variation, depositional history and correlation. Seven lithofacies and their equivalents, and six biofacies were recognized in the Member and its equivalents in the Fundy epieugeosyncline . Schizodus cf. (1953) was reidentified as Schizodus considered an important guide fossil. S. denysi of Stacy depressus and is Spirifer nox may also be used as a guide fossil in the western part of the Mi nas sub-basin. The Schizodus Limestone Member and lower part of the Fairy Hole Limestone (informal new member) are probably stratigraphically equivalent to the Wallace Point Limestone based upon their lithology, faunas and stratigraphic position. The litho- and biofacies variations suggest au-shape for the Fundy epieugeosyncline. Further, the Schizodus Limestone possibly formed closer to the margin of the trough than the other sections studied. The depositional history of the Member indicates that the limestone formed under conditions of initial rapid transgression followed by slow transgression and finally rapid regression.
