The taxonomy of the rugose corals of the Windsor Group (Visean-Namurian), E subzone, Kennetcook Limestone Member and its lateral equivalents in Nova Scotia is considered. A new genus, Howia, is established for Cyathophyllum dawson1 Lambe, and Zaphrentis minas Dawson is placed in Enniskillenia. Lophophyllum avonensis Bell remains in Koninckoph y llum where it had been previously placed and the C subzone guide fossil Dibunophyllum lambii Bell is considered to be a junior synonym of Clisiophyllum (Dibunophyllum) billingsi Dawson. Thirteen microfacies containing corals are described. Eight occur within the Minas sub-basin, the remainder in the Antigonish and Cape Breton areas. From the analysis of these microfacies a bathymetric model for the Fundy Basin during deposition is developed. The corals are assumed to have lived in tropical to subtropical latitudes, under normal marine salinities, within the sublittoral zone. Two biofacies containing autochthonous corals are described from the western Minas sub-basin. The Enniskillenia biofacies represents a community inhabiting deeper water, in soft substrates, while the community represented by the Howia biofacies probably lived closer to the zone of effective wave base.
