Robert W. Starr series, part of the Starr family fonds (Accession No. 1990.002-STA)

Robert StarrCorrespondence (dated between 1871 and 1883) received by Robert W. Starr of Starr's Point, Kings County, NS from Charles Downing, Newburgh, NY. Downing was a horticultural expert and publisher of Fruits and Fruit Trees, a horticultural magazine. The letters indicate that Starr sent Downing fruit specimens and grafts from apple trees that he grew in his orchard. They also discuss apple varieties.
